I am fascinated by the workings of planet Earth. Over millennia our planet has enabled and nurtured living things to become interconnected members of a biosphere. We and our fellow creatures are accustomed to this, and have thrived in the multitude of environments that have developed around us.

But we now know that this biosphere is fragile. The current human way of life is affecting each and every part of our living planet. Ecosystems stugggle to adapt to these rapid changes, and the way the planet itself works is altering in response to warming. Humans are of course not exempt from the risks these changes bring.

Such thoughts become interwoven in my paintings, as I attempt to reconcile the individuality of places and creatures, with the interconnectness of environments and ecosystems.
