Reef Life - the story

Reef Life

I had just finished reading ‘The Deep’ by Alex Rogers and my head was full of the surprises and the richness of ocean wildlife. From the tiniest phytoplankton to the largest whale, our oceans are still largely under-investigated and the stories of their many ecosystems and immense biodiversity only partially known.

Something for me to hold on to in this vastness was the tale of the reef. Ancient and vibrant, reefs support vast diverse communities of sea life. These precious habitats are at risk in our polluted and warming seas. Scientists are working to try to find ways to rejuvenate reefs that have been destroyed.

Reef Life was invited to be displayed in the Blue Zone at COP26 in November 2020.
